Gun slings, whether for your shotgun, rifle or tactical gun, come in different styles and materials, from leather gun slings to custom, personalized slings.

Shotgun Slings

Shotgun slings usually require special swivel adaptors (especially for pump-action, semi-auto shotguns such as Remington, Browning, Mossberg, Beretta) so a regular sling can be fitted.

There are shotgun slings available that don't need swivels. There is one shotgun sling called the Quake Claw shotgun sling system. This sling slips over the barrel and butt of the shotgun and is then securely tightened.

In selecting a shotgun sling, choose one that permits you to freely swing and point the shotgun instantly. You don't want a sling that interferes with your shooting, especially the fast paced style of shooting involved with shotguns.

Rifle Slings

Rifle slings come in so many different styles and materials such as leather, nylon, rubber. Leather rifle slings are popular, followed by neoprene/rubber slings. When looking for a rifle sling, keep it simple. Like shotgun shooting, you don't want the sling interfering with your shooting.

Neoprene/rubber type rifle slings are an excellent choice in foul weather (i.e. snow, rain). These waterproof, padded slings are usually 50% lighter too and flex under the weight of a rifle when slung over your shoulder, that makes carrying your rifle much more comfortable.

Tactical Slings

Tactical slings are specially designed to allow quick shooting and maneuvering of your AR15, M16, M4, AR-15, MP5, AK, shotgun and rifle. Such slings are obviously popular with law enforcement and the military.
