TIP 1 - Why Hunting Boots Are Very Important

All hunters have one thing in common - we hunt on foot. Selecting the right hunting boot, therefore, is critical.

You will not enjoy your hunt if your hunting boots do not properly fit, leak when wet, keep your feet warm in cold weather and keep your feet cool in hot weather.

So which hunting boot is best? The answer depends on the environment, terrain, etc you intend hunting and the time of year (ie, winter, summer).

TIP 2 - Hunting Boots That Cover Just About Any Environment

Over the years I've used many different types of hunting boots (cordura/leather combination, all leather, all cordura) and the best I've used in all types of weather and terrain is an all leather boot lined with Gore-Tex.

Nothing beats an all leather boot when it comes to durability, strength and waterproofing. Leather hunting boots stand up to years of abuse in the field hunting and worn with appropriate socks, keep your feet warm or cool.

I've hunted in 100 degree plus weather with my Zamberlan leather hunting boots (ankle-high boots) lined with Gore-Tex and wore special wicking socks and my feet stayed dry and comfortable all day long. During winter I use my Meindl hunting boots lined with Gore-Tex (above ankle boots) and insulated winter socks.

TIP 3 - Buy The Best Hunting Boot You Can Afford

Buy the best hunting boots you can afford - you won't regret the decision. I've used cheap hunting boots that tore apart at the seams after only one use! Never again.

Zamberlan and Meindl, in my opinion, make some of the best hunting boots in the world. Attention to detail and quality of materials is outstanding. Yes, this comes at a price, but like I said before, a hunt is ruined if your boots let you down.
